Duns litter and dog fouling

Litter and dog fouling were high on the agenda at Duns Community Council’s meeting.

Following the hunt meet in the Square on New Year’s Day it was reported that there was a lot of horse and dog excrement left which no-one had cleaned up. The community council will raise these concerns with the hunt master.

Dog fouling on the boardwalk and North Street was commented on once again, as well as a litter problem reported. The community council expressed regret that Scottish Borders Council had removed the neighbourhood warden service as it was felt that dog fouling had increased since that time.

An increasing litter problem on the left hand side of the road from Chirnside to Duns was reported.

Other issues included a bush overhanging steps to the Teindhill Green play park making them impossible to use; trees in the Square which have not yet been replaced.
