Police Scotland report that in the Mid Berwickshire area there were 27 incidents relating to anti-social behaviour last month.
However, in their monthly report to community councils in the area they reveal that a substantial number of the incidents relate to two particular issues in Duns and Coldstream, adding that they and their partners are “working together with positive results to reduce the impact on the public”.
At their April meeting Coldstream & District Community Council discussed the issues that have been arising in the town and chairman Martin Brims met with Inspector John Scott, expressing the concerns of the community.
Reporting back last week Mr Brims said: “The police are aware of the issues and understand our frustration but warn against people taking matters into their own hands. The message is report, report report.”
