The first of Berwickshire’s festivals and galas got underway on Saturday when Maggie Oliver was crowned the 2014 Cockburnspath Gala Queen.
Escorted by her standard bearer Cameron Miller, Maggie was led in procession to the village hall by Berwick Pipe Band.
She was crowned by special guest, retiring school cook Beverley Crow, during a colourful ceremony held in the hall.
The royal party was as follows: Gala Queen - Maggie Oliver; Standard-bearer - Cameron Miller; Queen’s attendants - Abbey Ellis, Sylvie Fennell, Emily MacGregor, Eva Smith; Ushers - Rowan Armitage, Cameron Morrison, Brodie Rutherford, Aaron Simpson; Flower girls - Orla Docherty, Hannah Love, Gemma Russell, Abbie Rowland, Fiona Thompson, Niav Walsh; Page boys - Leon Donnell, Callum Dunn, Dale Mackie, Sandy Russell, Oliver Willman.
After the crowning ceremony youngsters were able to enjoy a variety of games, a bouncy castle and ice cream, in the school fields.
On Sunday the official Kirking of the Queen was held in Cockburnspath Parish Church.
