Berwickshire Civic Society has launched a search for contenders for the 2014 Berwickshire Civic Society Awards.
The award has two categories: new buildings and alterations that reflect local vernacular design, and a parallel award to cover repairs and conservation works that are good examples of the use of local materials and craftsmanship. Entries are selected by local people.
An initial selection will be made at the end of August and the awards will be publicly presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Society in the autumn.
Work must be in the old county boundaries of Berwickshire and completed in the last three years. Judging will be by a Civic Society panel with an outside moderator and owners of winning properties and runners up will receive special award certificates.
