SBBN Duns and Eyemouth churches barbecue

The Catholic communities of Our Lady and St Margaret, Duns and St Andrew’s,Eyemouth recently got together for a Sunday afternoon Barbecue in the gardens of the church in Duns.

About 40 people were anticipated but such was the response that on the day over 60 people attended (and that was not counting the children).

The garden had been well tended with lawns mowed and flower beds trimmed and hoed. One half was devoted to the adults with the barbecue, a marquee for food and seating all around.

The other half of the garden was for the children, and was complete with games and a bouncy castle. Everyone who attended brought along a contribution to the table whether it be in the form of food or drink (or both) and the table was groaning under the weight. There was something to suit everyone. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon with everyone enjoying the food and the company and even the sun shone for most of the afternoon.

Father Robert Afayori, priest-in-charge of both churches, would like to thank everyone who attended and all those who helped in any way.
