People are still being discouraged from visiting Borders General more than a fortnight after the hospital fell victim to an outbreak of norovirus.
The winter vomiting bug originally forced the closure of the Department of Medicine for the Elderly and at the time of going to press, two bays in the ward were still closed.
Ward 4 is completely closed to admissions due to gastro-intestinal symptoms as are two bays in ward 16.
Wards 7 and 12 were fully re-opened on Monday but by Tuesday one bay in ward 7 7 was closed again as symptoms resurfaced.
NHS Borders said the situation was being “proactively managed” by management and staff with support from the infection prevention team.
Anyone planning on visiting is advised to reconsider and all those who choose to enter the building are asked to use hand gel when entering and leaving wards.
