The Berwickshire Hunt have recently presented two Horse Chesnut trees to Alick and Aline Hay of Duns Castle as a gesture of thanks for their kindness in providing the wonderful grounds of Duns Castle for two of the Hunt’s Cross Country Days in March.

They were both very successful and very happy days, enjoyed by a large number of competitors.

A good number of trees in the parks have recently been blown over or damaged and the Hunt hopes that the two trees, seen here in the photograph above, being presented to Alick Hay by Richard Swan who was responsible for building the Cross Country courses, will go a little way towards helping to replace some of the trees which were recently lost.

The trees were subsequently planted in the main avenue of the Castle grounds.
