Six fire appliances were called out to to deal with a fire at a farm near Duns on Saturday.
The fire at Choicelee Farm was reported at around 10.15pm and involved a large number of hay bales. Pumps from Duns, Coldstream, Kelso, Lauder, Gala and Peebles attended. The bales were stacked against the gable end of a single storey cattle shed. Firefighters were made aware of the possible presence of asbestos within the adjoining shed and used breathing apparatus as a precaution. Firefighters were at the scene until 5.42am on Sunday.
