Local investors save 80 jobs at Kelso firm

A management buy-out at Borders Precision Engineering in Kelso has saved 80 jobs.

Twenty local investors have committed a six-figure sum to keep the company going after it went into administration at the beginning of the year.

A number of staff have been laid off but the buy-out should secure the remaining jobs at the factory that is renowned for its high standards of excellence in produces medical instruments and parts for the military.
