Witnesses sought after cyclist injured at BGH

POLICE are looking for witnesses after a man was found injured next to his bike on Wednesday, November 14.

A 43-year-old man left the Border General Hospital at around 6.30pm yesterday and set off home.

A short time later he was discovered lying on the exit road at the hospital, having fallen from his bike.

The cyclist suffered a fractured skull and is currently being treated within Border General. However, his injury is not believed to be life threatening.

Road Policing Officers are investigating the full circumstances surrounding this incident and anyone who can assist with their enquiries is asked to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “We are still trying to establish how the cyclist fell from his bike and are keen to hear from pedestrians or motorists who were in the area just after 6.30pm on Wednesday.

“Anyone with information that can help officers with their investigation is asked to contact police immediately.”
