Web turbo boost for Borders businesses

Borders businesses are being given the opportunity to gain a competitive edge through a free one day workshop on the fast moving world of website development and on-line marketing.

Hosted by Borders Creative the Web Development Turbo Day will take place on November 7th at Ettrick Riverside and include presentations by technology experts, case-studies and one-to-one consultation sessions.

Giles Etherington, chairman of Borders Creative said: “Websites are viewed as essential by the majority of companies but the rapidly advancing world of technology means it is easy to be left behind. This workshop gives organisations the chance to pick the brains of locally based web experts and discover how developments in website technology and design can be harnessed to boost their businesses. Topics to being covered during the workshop include planning a new site, search engine optimisation, mobile web, technical and legal issues surrounding sites, content and design. The event also includes the opportunity for businesses to book a free one-to-one mini consultation to address their specific needs.

A case-study by Jackie Selcriag of Borders company Modjool will highlight how creative collaboration and good web design has enabled her to launch and sell her contemporary jewellery products to markets across the UK.
