Trust stage lighthouse abseil

ANYONE with a head for heights might want to head for Dunbar next weekend as the Bethany Christian Trust are offering people the chance to abseil from a well known landmark, raising money in the process.

The Trust, founded by the Rev Alan Berry in Edinburgh in 1983, strives to protect vulnerable and homeless people nationwide and they are appealing for volunteers to take part in a charity abseil down Barn Ness lighthouse on Saturday, September 29.

Those wishing to take part in the abseil down the 37 metre landmark should be over 14 years of age and a deposit of £10 is required per person.

Particpants are asked to check with their GP if they have any health concerns or are over 65 years of age.

There are no specific weight or height restrictions but because of the safety harness equipment your waist measurement must not exceed 61 inches and your thighs must not exceed 33 inches at the widest part. To find out more log on to http://www.bethanychristiantrust.com/?p=5353.
