Swan Youth Trust wants to help Berwickshire projects

Lord Lieutenant of Berwickshire, William Swan

Lord Lieutenant of Berwickshire, William Swan

Are you running a youth club, school or community project, or are you an individual needing financial assistance with an education project?

If the answer is yes, then maybe the Swan Youth Trust can help.

The trust was set up in 1989 to mark the retirement of Sir William Swan as Lord Lieutenant of Berwickshire.

Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to young people and youth organisations in Berwickshire for education and training with the aim of broadening the experience of young people and building their confidence and abilities.

Over the past 24 years grants totalling £27,600 have been awarded to 147 organisations and individuals for a wide range of projects including sports projects, Scouts, Brownies and Guides groups, residential trips, workshops, purchase of play equipment, sports equipment and arts and crafts materials, voluntary work overseas and instructor training from ballet to golf (from £100 to £600).

The trustees meet twice a year on May 1 and October 1 to consider applications from young people and youth organisations in Berwickshire and as the first meeting of 2013 approaches they are keen to hear from potential applicants.

For details and application forms contact Allan Swan, hon secretary on 018907 50429 admin@bainswanarchitects.com.
