Rural funding roadshow
community groups looking to get funding for projects in the Borders are invited along to a Rural Direct Roadshow event in Galashiels on Tuesday, February 28 at Old Gala House.
With the aim of helping rural communities access funding two sessions are being held (3pm – 5pm or 6pm – 8pm) and you are welcome along to the session which suits you best
Sessions begin with presentations and cover the following topics: An introduction to Rural Development funding and Rural Direct; Rural Priorities and other funding opportunities; Project planning – getting your application in order and your project ready to go ; Equalities and your funding application; Building quality in rural Scotland: the Keystone Quality Awards
During the afternoon and evening sessions there will also be rural funding surgeries offering a chance to speak to funding representatives on a one-to-one basis about your project.
As well as the Rural Direct Team (who predominantly support the Scottish Government’s SRDP funding scheme), there will also be representatives from BIG Lottery, LEADER, the Co-op Community Fund, the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), plus BAVS and The Bridge CVS representatives will be on hand to offer any advice to groups throughout both sessions.
