Paxton House joins art tour

PAXTON House has joined a prestigious list of venues offering gallery-goers a unique opportunity to see the work of a range of modern artists up close.

The Georgian house will host the work of esteemed Los Angeles artist Robert Therrien next year.

The exhibition, announced this week, is part of the fifth annual Artist Rooms Tour.

The tour is organised by the Tate and National Galleries Scotland. In a further example of cross-border co-operation, it is sponsored by Arts Council England and Creative Scotland.

The Artist Rooms collection of 725 works by 25 different artists was purchased in 2008 with the assistance of the Scottish and British Governments.

The exhibition will run from June 2 to October 31, 2013.
