New trial date for robbery accused
A NEW trial date has been set for an Edinburgh man accused of a masked jewellery robbery in Eyemouth more than two years ago.
Twenty-seven-year-old David Scott of Gracemount Drive, denies, while acting with others, assaulting three people, brandishing a hammer, and robbing them of jewellery at Chapel Antiques, High Street, Eyemouth, on July 22 2010.
He also denies assaulting a 76-year-old woman at Church Street, Eyemouth and demanding her car keys, and assaulting another woman with intent to steal her car.
Scott further denies, assaulting two people at Victoria Road, Eyemouth, demanding that the driver get out of the car with intent to steal it.
He was due to stand trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, October 8 but his trial has now been rescheduled to January 28 with an intermediate diet on January 7.
