New short film award for festival
THE Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival – an international celebration of the art of film – has launched its inaugural Best Short Film Award, sponsored by Inntravel, in which artists and filmmakers will compete for a cash prize of £500.
The festival theme this year is North by Northeast - exploring the region’s historical, industrial and travel links with northern Europe, and with the North Sea.
The festival promises once again to transform the town of Berwick into one big cinema screen through a programme of film premieres, site-specific installations, and live events in locations across Berwick and along the town walls.
Artists and filmmakers are welcome to submit moving image works of all types or lengths, in response to the theme, North by Northeast, for consideration. Further guidelines and details of how to enter can be found at: http://www.berwickfilm-artsfest.com/submit-your-film
Entrants can submit their works for only £5 for short films and £15 for feature films if submitted by April 26. The final deadline for submissions is June 29, and the programme will be announced mid-August.
