DUNS firefighters were called to Eyemouth yesterday (Wednesday) after approximately a tonne of fishermen’s nets caught fire.

AS the picture above (taken by Kevin O’Brien) shows, the equipment went up in flames in the large storage marquee over on the new side of the harbour at Gunsgreen basin.

It took the fire crew an hour to bring the blaze under control, using one 45mm hose and the cause of the blaze has yet to be established.
