SPORT Relief this year includes a First Nation Home competition which features teams from Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland running legs round the UK, and Berwickshire’s MSP John Lamont has been selected to run the Scottish Parliament leg for the Scottish team on March 25.

After finding out he had been selected John said: “I am honoured to be representing Scotland in the First Nation Home competition. I’ve never been able to represent Scotland before in a sporting event so when I was given the opportunity to take part I said yes straight away.

“I would urge anyone who wants to join me in running for Team Scotland, or simply donate towards our cause to visit the first nation website at www.firstnationhome.com. The money we raise will make a huge difference to a lot of people’s lives.”
