MSP supports Duns Football Club project

Duns Football Club had the pleasure of showing John Lamont around their new site at the Old Berwickshire High School in Duns. Mr Lamont had been kind enough to give the club a letter of support in their efforts to gain grant funding to upgrade the former games hall as Phase 2 of their overall project.

DUNS Football Club had the pleasure of showing John Lamont, MSP for Ettrick Roxburgh and Berwickshire, around their new site at the Old Berwickshire High School in Duns last Friday.

MR Lamont had been kind enough to give the club a letter of support in their efforts to gain grant funding to upgrade the former high school games hall as Phase 2 of their overall project.

Phase 1, which is groundworks on their new pitch , are due to start soon.

The club are currently taking ownership of the premises from Scottish Borders Council under “Community Asset Transfer”

Duns FC’s vice-chairman Colin Pike said: “Mr Lamont was kind enough to give us a letter of support and interested enough to ask to come to see for himself what are are trying to achieve here in Duns. The football club would like to place on record their thanks to Mr Lamont for this”
