TWO Berwickshire residents, Simon Furness and Elizabeth Brown, have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Simon Furness. chairman of Gunsgreen House Trust in Eyemouth, has been made an MBE for services to the community in Eyemouth.

Ayton’s Elizabeth Brown received a BEM (British Empire Medal) for services to the community. The British Empire Medal was re-introduction to create more opportunities to recognise the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK.
