Indecent exposure in Dunbar

LOTHIAN and Borders Police are appealing for information, following an indecent exposure in Dunbar last week.

The incident happened around 7.45pm on Wednesday, February 8 and began when a female witness walking along Letham Gardens in the town was passed by a young man on his bike.

The woman continued onto Parsonspool where she spotted the same man standing against a tree engaging in an indecent act.

The suspect had a short conversation with the witness before he walked away into Letham Gardens.

Detectives believe this is linked to previous public indecencies in the Winterfield Park and Winterfield Place area of Dunbar and are eager to hear from anyone who can help trace the man responsible.

The suspect is described as being a white male, between 13 – 17 years old, and between 5’4 and 5’7 tall of slim build and short dark hair.

In the most recent incident he was using a distinctive light coloured bicycle, possibly a BMX, and there is a similarly described bike in another reported crime.

A police spokesman said: “We believe this male has previously been responsible for other indecent exposures in East Lothian recently and are carrying out a robust investigation to identify him.

“Anyone who can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Police on 0131 311 3131.
