AFTEr beating off stiff competition from other Borders business brains, last Tuesday, June 12, brought the big moment for Eyemouth High School’s Young Enterprise Team Vintro.

The team flew the flag for the region at the Young Enterprise Awards in Glasgow after impressing regional judges with their vintage clothing and retro T-shirts which they had been selling around Eyemouth and the rest of the Borders.

Sixteen companies from different regions all over Scotland competed in the event held at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel.

Students were required to submit a business report prior to the event, deliver a business presentation, assemble a trade stand and participate in a gruelling interview by a panel of judges.

The Eyemouth students were dressed to impress at a formal dinner where they mingled with fellow achievers and eminent business people.

Although no awards were received this time the students thoroughly enjoyed the event and were excellent ambassadors for the school and the Scottish Borders.

The students would like to thank their business adviser Jill Aitchison from The Foot Clinic, Eyemouth for all her encouragement and support.

They would also like to thank link teacher, Miss Barclay for her commitment over the past year and Mrs Dailey for accompanying them on the trip.
