Eyemouth calendar competition

WHILE most of us are now looking towards 2013, Eyemouth and District Initiative Group have already got their sights sets on 2014 with a competition designed to get people snap happy.

The Initiative have launched a Photographic competition with the theme ‘Hidden Eyemouth’ and the aim of collecting 12 fantastic shots to make into a calendar to adorn people’s walls in two years time.

The contest is open to everyone and entries are now being sought for the October image which will be judged by noted local photographers Kevin O’Brien, Michael Reilly and Lawson Wood.

The entry fee for the competition is £5 per photograph with £2.50 from each entry placed in a fund to print and publish the calendar and the remaining £2.50 placed in a prize fund to be divided equally amongst all of the winning entrants on publication of the calendar in October 2013.

A maximum of three images may be submitted per person per month. Entries must be submitted in digital file format only, both high and low resolution.

Competition photographs can be emailed to eyemouthinitiative@yahoo.co.uk or handed in to ‘Occasions’ in Eyemouth on photographic memory card; portable memory stick, DVD or CD.

It is up to the entrant to correctly frame their photograph into a landscape (horizontal) format, as any other format submitted may be cropped to fit the calendar format (resulting in loss of part of the photograph).

Minimal digital manipulation may be made to the whole image ONLY. No cropping is allowed.

All photographs must be submitted before the last day of each month for that month’s entry, i.e. October month’s entry must be submitted by October 31.

Photographic file names should comprise the photographer’s name and the category. The photographer’s name, age, home address, post code, telephone number and email address must also be submitted on entry.
