Early years funding

Funding of up to £10,000 is available for groups working with children up to the age of eight or their parents.

The Big Lottery Fund is still looking for projects to fund through the Communities and Families Fund, a joint programme from the Big Lottery Fund and the Scottish Government.

Playgroups, crèches, parent and toddler groups, parent councils, community play events, healthy eating projects, parenting sessions for young families, community gardens or a wide range of other activities that will benefit children in their early years are all eligible.

Scottish Borders Council’s funding officer, Jean Robertson said: “This is a very easy source of funding, with a quick turnaround, for groups that are working with younger children – and it can fund up to 100% of the project’s costs.”

Contact Linda Cornwall, grants co-ordinator on 01835-826659 or Jean Robertson, funding officer on 01835-826543, for more advice and information.
