Double boost for Dunbar lifeboat

DUNBAR’S volunteer RNLI fundraisers enjoyed a double boost this week with ASDA customers and friends and family coming to the aid of the town’s two lifeboats.

ASDA Dunbar made the local RNLI branch one of its charities of the month and raised the sum of £145 and a raffle amongst friends and family contributed another £673 to station funds.

ASDA manager Ewan Carrigan and Jamie Peacock, ASDA community life organiser presented a cheque for that amount to Robin Melrose RNLI Dunbar secretary and Veronica Davies, RNLI Dunbar fundraising convenor.

On Saturday another £630 was raised for the local RNLI branch at a Christmas Fair which was held at the new Bleachingfield Centre in Dunbar.

Ann excellent total of £300 was taken as shoppers snapped up a range of RNLI souvenirs and another £330 was raised at an on the day raffle.
