Crash closes A1 for seven hours

SEVERAL people were injured and a dog put down after an accident involving three vehicles on the A1 on Friday afternoon.

The Peugeot then collided with a BMW being driven by a 37 year old woman from Rosyth. As a result the woman was trapped for 45 minites until freed by Fire Service. She sustained injuries to her legs and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance with a police escort.

Also in the car were her 60 year old father, who was also taken to the Royal Infirmary with back and pelvic injuries and her five year old son who was taken to the Sick Kids Hospital with head and shoulder injuries. The family’s dog was put down by a vet.

The road closed for seven hours for investigation and enquiries are still ongoing.
