Council to host Twitter Q&A on budget
Following the success of last year’s national Twitter 24 project, Scottish Borders Council will once again be using the social media platform to give the local community an insight into a day in the life of the Council.
From noon on Tuesday September 18 to noon the following day local authorities throughout Scotland will tweet about the services they deliver using the hashtag #mycouncil.
Councillor David Parker, Leader of SBC, said: “We are once again looking forward to getting involved in Twitter 24, which is now in its second year. This innovative event gives people across Scotland a valuable insight into the wide range of services provided by councils.
“It’s an excellent opportunity to engage with Borderers through social media, which continues to grow as an important communication tool.”
The Council (Twitter name @scotborders) will be tweeting hourly facts and information about its services, as well as hosting a Q&A session about SBC’s budget with David Parker from 6-7pm on September 18 to engage directly with service users. People are being asked to tweet their questions by using #askDP.
