Council plan creative events for all ages in Berwickshire

Scottish Borders Council’s Museum Service is organising three creative events in Berwickshire for all ages in June.

‘Creative Chairs’, an exhibition of twelve ingeniously transformed chairs, is on show at Duns Library Exhibition Room from this week until July 21.

From the endearing Bear’s Den to the thought-provoking Remembrance, these are inspired pieces of creative work.

They have been made by a wide variety of individuals and community groups over the last two years under the guidance of Borders Textile Towerhouse staff in Hawick.

During the exhibition there will be an event for all ages on Saturday, June 30, between 10.30am and 12.30pm to make creative fabric gardens to take home. This event is free but booking is essential as places are limited. Please call Duns Library on 01361 882622. Children under 8-years-old must be accompanied by an adult.

‘Creative Gardens’ is also on at Duns Library on Saturday, June 30. People can make their own fabric garden to take home. Again this is free but booking is essential. Please call the museum service on 01361 884114.

‘Window Art’ at Coldstream Museum takes place on Saturday June 23 and Thursday, June 28.

Enjoy looking at Carla Fullerton’s glass art in the exhibition gallery then create your own painted window and let the light shine through.

This is also free but booking is essential.

Call Coldstream Museum on 01890 882630.
