Chirnside left without water

A NUMBER of residents in Chirnside were left without water on Sunday after a burst pipe disrupted the supply in the village.

However, Scottish Water claim that the problem was brought to a swift conclusion and the inconvenience to customers was kept at a minimum.

A spokesperson said: “Scottish Water engineers located a burst water main affecting high lying properties in the Chirnside area of Berwickshire.

“They isolated the main and restored supplies within a few hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
