Staff at BHA, which includes BHA Homes and Seton Care, have been celebrating this week after making the Sunday Times Top 100 Not for Profit Organisations list for the first time.

BHA, which underwent a major re-branding at the end of last year, was ranked 52nd in the list and a number of representatives travelled to London for an award ceremony at Battersea Evolution, ecstatic that the association was held in such high regard.

Carolyn Veitch, a housing officer at BHA, was one of the lucky staff members selected to attend the event and described it as “amazing, a once in a lifetime experience.”

All the staff who attended the awards were staggered by the sheer scale of the event and the award and felt massively proud of what BHA has achieved.

Sami Clayton, Seton Care’s junior admin assistant said: “I was just so proud to be there. I felt like a celebrity at the Oscars!”

BHA was awarded a One-To-Watch status in 2012 by Best Companies, the organisation responsible for the awards and this year as well as making into the Top 100, BHA has been awarded a One Start grading by the workplace engagement specialists.

Staff completed an anonymous questionnaire with Best Companies to say how they felt about their employer and how their employer interacts with the local community and environment and the results of this were compared with 896 other not-for-profit organisations across the UK.

“We are all thrilled and excited to have done so well said Helen Forsyth, BHA’s Chief Executive.

“Staff are already talking about what we could do to be even better next time!”
