Busy time ahead for Duns Operatic Society

It’s a busy time ahead for Duns and District Amateur Operatic Society as they gear up to bring their 2012 musical ‘The Sound of Music’ to the stage.

Things get going this Saturday, February 18 when the Society are holding a joint fundraising night with the Rotary Club of Duns at a concert featuring Scocha, in the Volunteer Hall.

Next on the calendar is the Society’s annual fundraiser. Following on from the smash hit of their James Bond themed night last year the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas is coming to Duns.

An evening packed with Vegas related entertainment, gaming tables, dancing girls, an auction, a welcome glass of fizz, canapés and cocktails are just some of the treats in store.

Tickets are £15 and available from Number 18 or from the DDAOS website, www.ddaos.org.

And finally the main event- ‘The Sound of Music’ which will be brought to the Volunteer Hall stage in the first week of April.

Under the creative wing of Eloner Crawford and the musical baton of Mike Hardy this show full of popular and well loved songs including ‘My Favourite Things’ and ‘Climb Every Mountain’ is sure to be popular. Tickets are available from March 8.
