THERE were some top class exhibits at Duns Flower Show on Saturday with the top exhibitor being Alistair Common who won no less than eight trophies.

In the highly competitive industrial section it was Maureen Cranston who came out on top winning three of the main awards.

Trophy winners were as follows:

The A. Pringle Challenge cup for best exhibit in Dahlia classes - Alistair Common; The Society Shield for most points in Dahlia classes - Alistair Common; The W.F. Baillie Trophy for the best exhibit in the rose section - Alistair Common; The W.D. Wightman Challenge Cup for best exhibit in cut flowers - Alistair Common; The W. Cowieson Challenge Trophy for best vase of cut flowers for home decoration - Aileen Orr; The Anthony Challenge Cup for best exhibit in herbaceous annuals - Alistair Common; The Carson Pringle Challenge Cup for most points in cut flowers - Alistair Common; Society Trophy for best exhibit in pot plants section - Nigel Poole; G. and C. Trophy for most points in pot plants section - Nigel Poole; The Gibb Shield for best exhibit in fruit section - John Stuart; The Bill Pollock Trophy for best exhibit in tomatoes - John Stuart; The ‘Pringwood’ Challenge Cup for best exhibit in vegetable classes - Alistair Common; Society Trophy for most points in vegetable classes - Alistair Common; The A. Orr Sunwick Trophy and £10 for most points in potato classes - joint winners Alistair Dickson and John Stuart. The Pearson’s Home and Garden Centre Trophy for best filled planter - Aileen Orr; The Jean Wood Trophy for best small windowbox at show - Ann Lindsay.

The Wilkie Trophy for Berwickshire primary schoolchildren - Charlie Lindsay; The Douglas Challenge Cup for most points overall in the industrial section - Maureen Cranston; Margaret O’Brien Trophy for runner-up in industrial section - Joyce Luby; Scobbie Trophy most points in jams and jellies classes - Linda Thomson; Society Trophy for most points in baking section - Maureen Cranston; Border School of Motoring Trophy for most points in handicarfts classes - Maureen Cranston; The Feeney Trophy for most points in junior section 10–16 years - Katana Evans.
