Little Reivers in Duns is now providing free nursery education for preschool kids.
Highly graded by the Care Inspectorate, Little Reivers Childcare provides a full day care service for children from birth to 12-years-old. It is run by Seton Care, a subsidiary of Berwickshire Housing Association.
Stuart Robertson, director at Seton Care, said: “We are delighted to announce that Little Reivers Childcare in Duns can now provide free nursery places for your child if they are aged three or four years old.
“Places funded by and registered with Scottish Borders Council are now available to you entitling your child to up to 12.5 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, free of charge.”
Based in a pleasant house on Newtown Street, with its own private garden for children to play outside, Little Reivers is popular and well attended.
Mr Robertson said: “Your child will be able to enhance their learning by playing with other children in a safe and structured environment which will help their development, giving them a head start when they begin school.
“The Nursery is minutes away from Duns Primary School allowing parents to pick up and drop off siblings from the school at the same time and allowing easy access for the children on visits to the school before they start there themselves.”
Seton Care is also introducing the Kreative Kids Club, a new stand alone before and after school club for children aged 5-12.
The young people had a competition to name the club themselves and design its logo, which was won by 10-year-old Sam Ward.
The Kreative Kids Club provides a wide range of activities, space to do homework and access to IT facilities.
Mr Robertson said: “The club allows children a safe, friendly environment that parents can use to drop off/pick up from before and after work.”
