Kittiwake Trail celebration

A NEW new edible garden is to be created at Dunbar Police Station.

Dunbar Beavers and the Community Police will be planting all sorts of vegetables and salad crops which they will nurture over the summer - just one of the gardens and sculptures which will be mapping out the Kittiwake Trail.

The trail is part of an innovative season of Public Arts happenings in Dunbar by North Light, highlighting the unique nature of our locality, its rich heritage and its capacity to inspire.

The Kittiwake Trail is a creative celebration of people and place and will open on June 2 with Kittiwake workshops as part of the Sparkling Dunbar Regatta 1-5pm.

North Light aims to generate a strong focus on our environment, and the sculptures are being created from all kinds of recycled or scavenged materials.

Trail maps will be available from John Muir’s Birthplace and everyone in the locality is invited to get creative, making their own Kittiwakes to place in a window or garden, hatching a home grown flock throughout the summer.
