John Lamont holds his seat in Scottish Elections

CONSERVATIVE candidate John Lamont held his seat in the Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency in the Scottish Elections.

He increased his percentage of the vote by 5.8 per cent to record a majority of over 5,000 from the SNP candidate Paul Wheelhouse who increased his percentage of the vote by 8.6 per cent.

Results were as follows:

John Lamont (Conservative) - 12,933.

Paul Wheelhouse (SNP) - 7,599.

Euan Robson (Liberal Democrat) - 4,990.

Rab Stewart (Labour) - 2,986.

Jesse Rae (No description) - 308.

Turnout - 52.7 per cent.

Majority - 5,334.
