LAST spring Lee Evans whipped comedy fans into a frenzy, and Berwick is now bracing itself for more of the same with the announcement that Jack Dee is coming to town next the month.
The comedy heavyweight and one-time star of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will be performing at The Maltings on Tuesday, March 13 in a warm-up show ahead of his nationwide tour.
New chief executive Matthew Rooke told ‘The Berwickshire News’: “I am thrilled in my first few weeks at The Maltings to have been able to bring Jack Dee to Berwick.
“Many of the major stars who come to Berwick have careers in which they can fill stadium-sized venues, but I think that it is this intimacy and direct feedback with the audience that makes The Maltings the place to come to share new material before the rest of the world gets to see it.”
The Maltings expects to be “overwhelmed with demand” for tickets, which go on sale tomorrow at 10am for members of the Friends of The Maltings scheme and are limited to two per person. The general sale begins at 10am on Monday.
