Ross Baxter of Dunbar Community Bakery with his “Dome Chocolat et au Praline Feuillete” has made it to the shortlist for the Bakery Shop Cake award at this year’s Cake Awards, the only Scottish baker to make the top 20.

This month Ross scooped up a gold and a silver at the Scottish Baker Awards 2013.

The winner of the UK awards will be revealed at a ceremony on July 17, at the Park Lane Hotel in London.

The Cake Awards are dedicated to recognising excellence in cake.

Judges include Bruce Langlands, director of food at Harrods, Will Torrent award winning pâtissier and chocolatier and Allan Jenkins, editor of Observer Food Monthly.

Patissier Ross said; “I feel really privileged to be short listed in this year’s cake awards, it’s a great platform for patissiers like me and a fantastic opportunity to be recognised by some of the industry’s leading experts.”
