WITH Christmas-themed adverts now all over the television and festive songs starting to be aired, people are quickly getting into the Yuletide spirit, including the staff at Gunsgreen House in Eyemouth who have organised a Christmas Fayre for Sunday.
The event being billed as ‘Gunsgreen Christmas Festive-al’ will run from 11am-4pm and entry for adults is £2, with children getting in for free.
Tasked with opening proceedings is Eyemouth’s 2011 Herring Queen Rachel Lauder and after a welcome introduction from her and her maids, Eyemouth High School Glee Club will take to the floor to entertain at 11.30am.
It will then be the turn of members of Eyemouth Variety Group to spread some festive cheer at 12 noon who will be followed by Wendy Lough who will ready some poetry; staff from Occasions who will demonstrate how to put together a Christmas flower arrangement and Marjorie Leithead who will entertain with some storytelling.
The event will be rounded off by two musical favourites. First up at 2pm are The Fishermen’s Choir followed by the ever-popular Podlies at 3pm.
And in addition to all of the entertainment there will also be Christmas stalls; a prize draw; hot turkey rolls and other refreshments to warm the cockles; a visit from Santa and local photographer Kevin O’Brien, who will be on hand to capture that special moment.
