Greenlaw and Hume has a community council once more

GREENLAW and Hume Community Council will be up and running again following the recent election when it meets for the first time on Monday, November 26.

An unsuccessful election in March, when the minimum number of nominations was not achieved, meant a period of six months without a community council had to elapse before the call for nominations could be issued again.

Following the election, the community council is up to full strength with nine members for the Greenlaw area and three members for the Hume area filling all of the available places.

The new members of the community council are: J. Barnett, Greenlaw, D. Butterworth, Greenlaw, I. Caldwell, Greenlaw, P. Culham, Greenlaw, C. Dalgliesh, Hume, F. Drewery, Greenlaw, H. Johnson, Greenlaw, J. Mackie, Hume, E. Paterson Atkins, Greenlaw, H. Paxton, Hume, A. Schofield, Greenlaw, C. Trotter, Greenlaw.

The new community council members will be briefed on their responsibilities and the chair, secretary and treasurer elected during their first meeting next week in the Fairbairn Hall, Greenlaw.

All meetings are open to the public and you can get involved in the work of a community council whether you’re a member or not.
