Hannah Black was crowned Chirnside Gala Queen 2015 on Sunday as the village’s Civic Week festivities got underway.

After the Kirkin O’ The Queen in the parish church, followed by the toasting, the parade, led by Coldstream Pepe Band, made its way to Windram Park for the crowning ceremony

Susan Swan welcomed everyone to the ceremony before Hannah was crowned by last year’s Gala Queen Kacey Moffat.

Hannah’s court was as follows: Consort - Nicholas Warnock; Attendants - Hannah Turner and Poppy Bell; Herald - Luke Riley; Crown-bearer - Kieran McCulloch; Fairy Queen - Isabelle Watson; Fairy Queen’s Consort - Rhys Simpson; P1 - Miley Turner and Israel North; P2 - Thea Maudsley and Harley Jackson; P3 - Sophie Peserra and Noah Sidney; P4 - Millie Warnock and Luke Simpson; P5 - Rebecca Richards and Jack Evans; P6 - Matilda Sidney and Hamish Reynolds.

There was a good entry for the fancy dress competition with many original and funny costumes on show.

Civic Week carries on this week with a variety of events for all the family culminating on Saturday night with a Fancy Dress Dance in Robins Nest Hotel starting at 7.30pm. Anyone in fancy dress gets a free shot!
