SPORTS enthusiasts and charity fundraisers throughout the region took part in a variety of events for this year’s Sport Relief.

Nationwide dozens of celebrities and other public figures joined with members of the public to take part in hundreds of runs around the country.

On Sunday, two of Chirnside Chasers’ finest runners raced for Scotland as part of the Sport Relief first nation home event.

George ‘Dod’ McMullan and Claire Duff ran the six mile race which saw 1,000 lucky participants pull on their national strip and compete against the other home nations. George completed it in a very fast 37 minutes and Claire, despite not having trained much due to illness, finished in a PB of 61 minutes.

Swinton Primary School’s ‘Run a Mile for Sport Relief’ was held on The Green in Swinton. The children have raised a total of £220 so far for Sports Relief - thanks go to all who took part.

At Berwickshire High School on Friday pupils donned fancy dress to take part in a round the school Sport Relief Mile.

Some pupils jogged, walked, got together to run three-legged and even did the conga! Over £520 has been raised.
