Fuel thefts prompt fresh warning

FOLLOWING fuels thefts from two Berwickshire properties last week Lothian and Borders Police have urged members of the public, particularly those in rural areas, to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

There was a spate of fuel thefts in Berwickshire in the early part of the year and thieves struck again when a quantity of heating fuel was stolen from a fuel tank within a garden in Burnmouth over the weekend.

And sometime between Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17, someone broke into the green keeper’s shed at Ayton Bowling Club and stole fuel from within.
