A young dog born and bred at Edrom who was crowned best of breed at Crufts earlier this month continued his winning ways last weekend in Ireland.

Frankie, official name Millvalley (Shades of Red), a 14 month old Australian Terrier beat off all competition for the breed, including his own grandfather who was reserve best dog.

Sheila Stoddart has been showing Australian Terriers for over 30 years, and Frankie was her sixth best of breed winner at Crufts.

“It was a total surprise,” said Sheila, “to win best of breed with a 14 month old dog. It was an unforgettable day.”

The 2016 Crufts competition was one of Sheila’s best years, as well as Frankie and his grandfather Rufus having success, Sheila also had the top veteran bitch. Frankie’s mother was second in the limit bitch, and is about to fly out to America to hopefully breed more champions. Frankie’s father was the top Australian Terrier in America in 2013, the link between Edrom and America clearly a winning one.

Sheila shares custody of Frankie with his Irish co-owner Jackie Stubbs, and Frankie continued his winning ways at the weekend, at the Irish Kennel Club Celtic Winners Championship Show (Group 3) in Dublin.
