NORTHUMBRIA Police are reminding fans attending the Berwick Rangers v Rangers football match on Sunday to plan ahead.
The Scottish third division football match is expected to draw a capacity crowd of 4,140 on Sunday, August 26, with kick off at noon.
Police are reminding fans to allow plenty of time to get to the ground to make sure they get there and inside safely.
Superintendent Derek Scott, who is overseeing the policing operation, said: “The roads to the ground and around the town may be busier that usual and we’d urge people to give themselves plenty of time to travel.
“We’d also urge fans to get to the ground early to ensure everyone with tickets can get in safely in plenty of time of kick-off. People should plan ahead and be patient.
“We’re expecting this to be an enjoyable and trouble-free event, however, people should be aware there will be a police presence to help with traffic management and safety aspects.
“Anyone who does cross the line into crime or disorder will be dealt with appropriately.”
