The John Duns Scotus 750th anniversary celebrations get under way this weekend and include a community walk around Duns on Sunday, September 18.

Participants are encouraged to don monks habits and sport dunces’ caps as the guided walk takes people around the Duns sites associated with the Duns philospher.

The guided walk begins at 2pm from the Duns Scotus statue in the public park and everyone is invited.

From the park the walk will go along the Duns Scotus Way ‘board walk’ to the high school, on to Duns Castle before pausing at his birthplace cairn, returning via Market Square, and finishing in the churchyard at 3.15pm.
