Weaponry found around the site of the battle of Flodden is the subject of a workshop in Coldstream Museum, on Saturday, October 22, 10am-3pm.

Throughout the Flodden 500 project, marking the 500th anniversary of the 1513 battle, volunteers have taken part in excavations, uncovering an array of weapons, and expert Dr David Caldwell will explain all about the finds during the workshop.

“Our volunteers have made some amazing discoveries from the excavations, revealing some wonderful pieces from the battlefield site, “said Alistair Bowden, part of the Flodden 1513 Ecomuseum project.

“The workshops have proved very popular, and this the final one in this year’s programme, in particular will be of great interest, offering the chance to get up close and personal with real weaponry used at Flodden, along with some other pieces dating back much further.”
