Firefighters were called to free a four-year-old boy who had become trapped in a climbing frame in Dunbar on Sunday evening.
A local fire crew from Dunbar attended at Lauderdale Park shortly before 6pm after reports that a young child had trapped his arm in a metal pipe.
Firefighters used a grinder and reciprocating saw to remove the child from the climbing frame with his arm still encased in the metal pole. They were then able to remove the pole from the child’s arm before having him checked over by ambulance crew at the scene.
Fortunately he did not require to go to hospital and the incident was concluded safely, thanks to the extrication skills of the firefighters, within 40 minutes.
