Duns company Farne Salmon is holding a Charity Golf Day on October 12 at Melrose Golf Club in aid of Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.
The golf championship is the latest in series of fundraising events organised by the company in recent months.
Farne’s employees raised £2000 for CHAS earlier this year through a previous golf event and a further £1500 from its recent Beat The Borders challenge team’s efforts.
Linda Dickson, head of Human Resources for Farne, said: “We have an amazing bunch of employees who really are willing to go the extra mile for good causes and we try our best to support and facilitate their efforts.
“So far this year Farne staff have raised over £3900 for charity and we hope to top the £5000 mark by the end of December. I am sure our forthcoming golf day will be a brilliant event.”
Farne Salmon, an award-winning smoked salmon and fish business, is the largest private sector employee in the Borders with over 600 staff. The company recently invested £1.2 million in a new production facility at its Duns factory.
