THERE were a number of local successes at the 2012 Northumberland County Show.

Winners in the cattle section included: Champion male Limousin - Festival, Renton and Redden Partners, Tweedmouth; Best Exhibitor Bred British Blonde - Ramrig Gladiator, G. and A. Hamilton, Duns; Any Other Continental Beef Breed male reserve champion - Ramrig Gladiator, G. and A. Hamilton, Duns; Champion Longhorn - Fishwick Lord of the Rings, Messers J. Close and Son, Berwick; Champion male Longhorn - Fishwick Lord of the Rings, Messers J. Close and Son, Berwick; Any other pedigree native beef breed reserve champion - Haughton Laura L0266 Whittaker and Co, Cornhill; Any other pedigree native beef breed, reserve female champion: Flodden Princess Millie, Whittaker and Co; Any other pedigree native beef breed, male champion - Rosemead Karona J957, Albert De Cogan, Cornhill; Any other pedigree native beef breed, reserve male champion - Caldwell Poser, Whittaker and Co; Reserve champion female Hereford - Romany 1 Ishbel A84, Whittaker and Co Farms; Reserve champion male Hereford - Spurstow 1 Lancelot, Whittaker and Co.

Winners in the sheep section included: Best opposite sex to champion Suffolk: D. Laing, Duns.
